Yeah, been a great season (up to ep 10). Having said that, I think the quality of the entire show has been consistently good (though maybe a slight dip in season 3).

Amazing how they can make it so topical, even if they did expect a Clinton victory. Will be interesting to see how House of Cards copes this year.

RIP Quinn. He's had enough close escapes.

Also, I didn't see that ending coming at all. Build up the President Elect throughout the season in a manner to gain sympathy for her and then turn her into a dictator type figure almost instantaneously.

I know you used a spoiler, but for anyone keeping pace with what is show on Ch 4 then you are an episode ahead.

yep, it's reinvented itself again, and this is currently the best it's been since the first season.

I stopped watching after Brody died, and did well to bother until that point I feel :)

Think I can dive into the current season without having watched anything until now?

Really enjoying it again , think it lost its way with the whole Brody thing in the end
If you see a lovely field with a family having a picnic, and a nice pond in it, you fill in the pond with concrete, you plow the family into the soil, you blow up the tree, and use the leaves to make a dress for your wife who is also your brother.

The writers really tied themselves in knots trying to keep Brody and his family's plot lines going. When they cut that cord the show took off again.

I've always enjoyed Homeland and I enjoyed this series, but the show has lost its way in the past 2 seasons.

I liked the original idea with Brody and then it moved into terrorism in general abroad but this last season for me was all over the place.

Others may care but frankly I couldn't give a shit about Carrie's kid. It's not what the show is about. I want Carrie and the gang chasing bad guys, and the show has gone away from that. It's gone from thrilling, tense action packed good guys vs bad guys to a political drama mixed with Eastenders.

To be brutally honest I'll keep watching it because I've invested years into the show but I hope the next season is the last. If the show isn't going back to its roots what's the point. If I want to watch a political drama I'll watch House Of Cards.

There's definitely been times when the quality has nosedived, but I thought this season was near perfect.

The pacing was well executed. Everything was nicely ticking along just under the surface until the final few episodes when it kicked into gear.
Dar Adal and Quinn, two of the strongest characters, featured heavily. Finally, it was full of the sort of tense moments Homeland specialises in.

The last episode itself was a slight letdown. It was perfect up until the "Six Weeks Later" part. I felt like they skipped over the significance of what happened before, and the character himself deserved more recognition.

Quietly optimistic for the show's future, but they'll have to introduce some engaging new supporting cast members. The best characters continue to be the ones we've known all along, and their numbers are decreasing now.

I thought this season was great (I've loved most if not all of the series) but agree it shouldn't turn into HoC/West Wing - the thought of Carrie as a white house SPAD is grim. Was interesting to be back stateside this year, but needs to get back to proper spook stuff next year.

Agree with that S. Disappointed they skipped over the 6 weeks. Don't think it dealt at all well with the fallout of the attacks and significance of the death of a major character in Quinn. Felt it was too rushed to hook us into next season.
Disappointed too that Quinn died although he may have run out of lives. He was the Jack bauer type that the show needs. The lovable rouge.

Just watched the latest season in about a week or two.....

veering towards a 24-style show (not as fast paced like). Which is not to say I didn't think the season was strong but I can see why some posters have mentioned it has gone away from its roots

Homeland for me has always been a bit more raw and I think they should go back to that.
Spoiler
Quinn was a brilliant character and its sad to see him go
[close]
....Dar Adal was also a very interesting one that im glad got a bigger role..

I see the fake news/president stuff is high on current affairs so can see why they went that route for this season.....wonder whats next

They were probably caught on the hop. The President Elect had overtones of Clinton. Trump winning messed up their planning forcing the pivot to authoritarianism.  It probably seemed like a great idea when Clinton was ahead.

Season 7 is back on Channel 4 on February the 18th, with the first episode being aired it's usual 7 days earlier in the US this Sunday night (for those of you who can't wait the week for it to air here and watch it online).

WARNING: The trailer below will have a LOT of spoilers if you haven't yet watched season 6, which is now on Netflix UK by the way.

Good news.  I have just made my way through "Next of Kin" on ITV which I read someone accurately describe as, 'Homeland if it had been made by Channel 5' - be good to get back to the real thing.

Great news.

Homeland has it's detractors, and rightly so in some instances. The last season produced some of it's finest moments to date though.

You only realise how good Homeland is once you watch one of it's many run-of-the-mill pretenders.
