Moreno looking like Riise in his pomp going forward today. His goal was similar to Riise's in the derby back in 2001.

Was about to post the same thing. Riise got a couple of goals like that.

That was sweet. Clean sheet, three goals, could have been three more.  :)

Spurs weren't half bad either, making the clean sheet all sweeter!

Great 3 points. We scored all our goals at great times. Shame Sterling missed that chance, would have been some goal. A confidence inducing clean sheet too. Great moment from Moreno.  Get in.

Moreno, Manquillo & Lovren look like they will give us some serious strength at the back this season. I'm sure Sahko will up his performance from this game.
Sterling, ha, that toe poke he missed after his mazy run. lol... The kid is insane..

0 - 3 in the end, could have one by 6!

kidder is as quick as moreno

what a goal by the lad
great performance.

terrificissimo

Cheat really. Make personal notes whilst watching the game. Rightly or wrongly, ramblings or musings, saw some woeful HT/FT match threads last season that really set a bleak tone for the rest of the thread. I feel that there's a time for reflection and a time for criticism. I'll personally leave the criticism to the folk at the round-table or have more of a keen eye than me.

Moreno though. Fucking well worth the wait eh mate?

Never post at half time and I did today. Said the defensive mistakes were poor, but fuck me I was wrong. Clearly was just the adjustment to playing together because second half they were great.

Sterling is different class.

Good performance. Great result. Centre backs didn't deserve a clean sheet. Need to sort themselves out sharpish. Two young Spanish lads were great. Balotelli promising but clearly not match fit yet. Sterling brilliant. Great to see the real Hendo again.

6 points out of 9. 3 up on same fixtures from last year. Don't have to go to City again. Don't have to go to Spurs again. Decent transfer window. Decent CL draw. Decent LC draw. A decent enough start to the season.

Great game. 3 points, clean sheet, job done.

Sterling was immense and our passing was beautiful to watch. The travelling Kop were in full voice and made it sound like a home game.

Was Moreno possessed by the spirit of a young Riise? That was an absolutely epic goal. Lovren is boss. Hendo is boss. Sturridge showed exactly how good he is when he's got team-mates around him, providing support and making runs. Balotelli was very, very good in the first half before fading a bit in the second. Sterling is frighteningly good.

Clean sheet, three goals, brilliant all round performance. 'Pool!

Dya know what was good about that? Liverpool, for much of that match, were in second gear, sloppy in posession, making mistakes, new players were nervy and unsure... and the utterly pissed the match. Hilarious.

I love the fact that as soon as Utfd blew up at the beginning of the season, the media immediately latched onto Spurs as a likely contender for Cl places. They have a total blind spot for Liverpool, they cannot countenance that Liverpool are a good side with good players.

I would say that I think Spurs have the bones of a good team and they did play midweek; it will eb a different ketle of fish for Liverpool when the CL group stages start. But the Spurs backline is chronic.

For Liverpool, Moreno was MotM I reckon. Good performances from Henderson, Balotelli and Sturridge. Sterling was sterling, real nice goal. The new players did well, Can, Markovic and Manquillo.

Gerrard was a bit hit and miss.

Most disappointing was Lovren, diving in, hoofing balls, getting caught out of position... I actually think Sahko performed better beside him, despite the poor passing.

Supersave from Mig, clean sheet, easy win, ace weekend of result.

Watch as the British media make Aston Villa new favourites for 4th.
Beatings will continue until morale improves...

No chance at that 'never a penalty'. It's a soft one, but Allen's gone down and the Spurs lad has clearly pulled him back. Ref has to give it.

Great performance across the whole team.

Wonderful, wonderful goal by Moreno.

I'm not telling porkies here - Sterling is 19 years old!

And what, just fucking what a player Jordan is! I find it difficult to understand how a player can be as good as that match after match after match.
