Michael Owen....
"You have to admire animals. Hamster spun round in a wheel three times bigger than him and abruptly lands on his back. Then just gets up and carries on as if nothing happened! If that was a human he'd be helicoptered to hospital, off work for 6 months have back issues for 20 years and then start legal proceedings against the wheels owner"

Barry Sanders. Always on a shit team that only had to focus on stopping him but were never able to. Best RB I've seen.

Hugo Sanchez.

He used to pop up on some saturday show in the 80s  ( saint n Greavsie?) at a time when European football was somthing you rarely see, apart from world cups/Euros.

It wasn't a suprise to see this guy score 4 or 5 goals in one of these short clips.

For a period of time "Iron Mike" for me was by far the most explosive, exciting athlete in the world. During the mid-late eighties I would have put him up against any fighter that's ever lived and I believe he would have destroyed them. http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=g-478QGV9pc

Great player but not nearly as exciting a linebacker as Lawrence Taylor in his prime.
What a great shout. Absolutely devastating animal of a player. Scared the daylights out of opponents. Probably the greatest defensive player in NFL history.

Although I can't claim to have watched him a lot, for some reason, Gabriel Batistuta sticks out in my mind a lot. Although when I watched him, I was quite young, he was a player that had an impact when I was watching at the time and has stuck in my mind.

Usain Bolt. Love watching him race.
Definitely. It's not so much as watching him race but his celebrations and interviews. He is so good and he knows it but isn't so arrogant that I dislike him. The breaking of the world record when he just celebrates and sloes down about 10metres before the finish was brilliant

Now I hate saying this, but...

Michael Owen. 1998-2001 he was electric to watch.
I don't see a problem with that.
Someone should do the right thing - go back in time to 1992 and destroy the codes to Championship Manager before it is ever released

No one beats Michael Jordan for me.

Watching those NBA finals as a kid were magical. It was like watching a super hero series, each episode wondering how he would save the day, and the things that he would come up with... well they were just otherworldly.

Never seen anything like it before or after. A true phenomenon.

The close second would probably be Maradona.

Usain Bolt.

Ronaldinho in his prime.

Sachin and Lara during the 90s.

Roger Federer at his best. He's probably the finest athlete I've ever seen. The most amazing thing about him is that unlike the other tennis players, he has spent most of his career as a pretty skinny guy, at least for his height and natural frame. (Journalists who've met him in person confirm this.)

I always loved to watch Zinedine Zidane, especially for France. He WAS the 1998 and 2006 World Cups.
