Very strange in this day and age that nothing has leaked at all.
Good point which adds more weight to the announcement being about her stepping down as PM due to doctors advice. she's been looking very frail over the last few months.
It might take our producers five minutes to find 60 economists who feared Brexit and five hours to find a sole voice who espoused it.

What is the justification for an early GE? She's already got Article 50 through Parliament. She won't come out to the public and say "I'm going to repeal a law just because I fancy my chances at trouncing Jezza" so what will her excuse be?

To give her a mandate for carrying through the negotiations for the benefit of the Tories.

Good point which adds more weight to the announcement being about her stepping down as PM due to doctors advice. she's been looking very frail over the last few months.

You can't blame her - she's presided over the most draconian policies in modern British History - she's stolen from the poor, the sick, the mentally ill, the weak, the disabled, children, The Police, the NHS, The Ambulance Service, Doctors, Nurses, Teachers, Hospitals, Schools, Councils and given it all to the rich.

She's propped up Brexit and realises that the country has gone down the tubes on her watch.

If you were 20 points ahead in the polls, why wouldn't you call an election?

She'll lose dozens of seats to the Lib Dems but will slaughter Labour in the North and suburbs.

She can announce her intention to call an election all she wants, but she doesn't have the votes to push it through. Not unless Labour abstain.

And there's no way that Jeremy Corbyn would do something so manifestly stupid and hurtful to his party, is there??

It is the perfect time for her to call an election before the realities of Brexit start to hit home add in North Korea and they will win a landslide. Just imagine how easy it will be to portray Corbyn as being too weak to stand up to North Korea.

Think shes cutting her losses, Lib Dems support will grow as Brexit develops.shes probably more worried about them in 2020 than Labour.

This is going to be a disaster... Unfortunately I have no confidence at all that 2020 would be any less of a disaster, but at least it wouldn't allow a free run for the hardest Brexit possible. Although having said that Labour looked like they were allowing that anyway. A more competent opposition might be more valuable even with the lesser seats.

Really fear for Labour. They are going to take an absolute pummelling.

Tories will vote Tory.

UKIPers will vote UKIP.

More moderate traditional Labour voters may swing towards Lib Dems if they say something meaningful against Brexit, given that they were the only major party outside of Scotland to oppose it. More may vote for no-one because of their opinions of Corbyn. And some may vote Green again.

Scots will vote SNP.

I reckon worst electoral outcome for Labour in living memory.

How I heard it too. UKIP talking points addressed. Corbyn and leadership placed in contrast - the only way May begins to look even half-way competent herself.

So, I now get to figure out (in an election which will be used to justify a hard Brexit) whether to vote for my Corbyn supporting Brexiting Labour MP or not. Joy.
