Premier League Fixtures 29-31 March 2014
« on: March 28, 2014, 02:23:14 pm »
Saturday 29 March
Man United v Aston Villa 12:45
Crystal Palace v Chelsea 15:00
Southampton v Newcastle 15:00
Stoke v Hull 15:00
Swansea v Norwich 15:00
West Brom v Cardiff 15:00
Arsenal v Man City 17:30

Sunday 30 March
Fulham v Everton 13:30
Liverpool v Tottenham 16:00

Monday 31 March
Sunderland v West Ham 20:00

Faltering United face Aston Villa who have a decent away record, Chelsea could slip up at Palace, after all Mourinho lost his last away game! Arsenal face Man City who are looking for a double over the Gunners. We can silence Tim 'Character' Sherwood on Sunday and other games are happening.
My favourite all time LFC player? Tough choice.

I'm expecting Palace to get all 3 points.
We already have shit in the country, and the game of Liverpool fills life with joy. Thanks

I'm expecting Chelsea and City to draw. Those are two tough away fixtures for different reasons.

Palace are superb defensively and Chelsea only have one real goal threat away from home.

Villa at United should be hugely entertaining, purely because I look forward to seeing the plane with the banner! No doubt Sky will be instructed by Scudamore to censor it though...

Palace have done really well since Pulis came in. If you look at the table since then, Palace are a decent mid-table side with the 3rd best defensive record (fewest goal conceded) after Chelsea & City.
Hopefully their game against Chelsea will be a dull 0-0 draw but I have a feeling Schurrle will come on and snatch it right at the death.

Can't see any result other than a City win. Arsenal have been utterly disastrous against the teams above them this season.

Expect the worse, and hope for a surprise.

Whenever our rivals have looked like dropping points this season they haven't, its the games out of the blue that have done that.

Palace and Arsenal aren't getting shit.

On paper, this weekend represents our best chance for our 2 rivals to drop points.

If either of them do, it makes Sunday even bigger for us (as if that were possible).

Man United 1 v Aston Villa 2
Crystal Palace 0 v Chelsea 3
Southampton 2 v Newcastle 1
Stoke 2 v Hull 1
Swansea 2 v Norwich 1
West Brom 1 v Cardiff 0
Arsenal 0 v Man City 2

Fulham 1 v Everton 3
Liverpool 2 v Tottenham 1

Sunderland 1 v West Ham 0

If Villa score first they will get a second and have enough for the victory at old trafford, could get ugly, Lambert could get smug, Chelsea will have to much for a plucky yet limited Palace side, Southampton will beat Newcastle as history dictates that the journey causes dvt.

Arsenal will do fuck all as usual, Wenger will struggle with zips and Steve Bould will talk, but no one cares, Eriksens scores, "we should have bought him" is said from people who you don't invite to bbq's, but   we will win a by a narrow scoreline, even though we batter spurs, with an eventual  last minute winner,  and now your gonna believe us...
No time for caution.

Is Southampton vs Newcastle the first game of the season where the result is meaningless?

Villa vs Stoke the other weekend was pretty much the same I reckon. Not mathematically, but they were both safe.

Oh yeah good point. So is Man Utd vs Villa the other second meaningless game of the season?

Seriously, I don't think Villa will think they're safe just yet, even if they're now unlikely to get relegated.

Lee Mason is reffing the Chelsea game, so I expect nothing less than an easy away win after the opening goal has been secured via the penalty spot, following a dive, where the last man was sent off. Don't be surprised when it happens. Its exactly how United beat Palace earlier in the season too btw

We just want 2 things this weekend  (3 would be greedy)

A comfortable Liverpool win (I think we'll get that)

Either of City/Chelsea to drop points (both is the 3 to which I refer).  I don't think its likely if I'm honest.

The way Arsenal have been lately, the way they set up, and their zero confidence makes a City win look inevitable.  The slight outside chance is that Chelsea slip up.. but I don't see that either.

So I think it will be a routine weekend, the main interest being Sunday, when I think we will keep our place, and Everton will move closer to 4th spot.

Actually Lee Mason is known to be one of the most lenient refs going. Some of the challenges he's let go without showing a red or a yellow have been bordering on assault. In fact I'm sure he was the ref who officiated the game when Fellaini headbutted Shawcross. So expect a very physical, tasty game with lots of challenges flying in and hopefully a few injuries for key players to Chelsea.

Don't think this will be the week that Chelsea drop anything, can see a 0-2 there. Hazard will win them that game.

I do think Arsenal will get a point though.

I'm hoping for a point for Palace and a win for Arsenal, alas, I'm expecting both City and Chelsea to score 3+.

'Jonah' double going on tomorrow.

just under 2-1.

Win win.
13mins - Bournemouth have gone home. Utd kicked off anyway. Still 0-0 as Smalling passes it back to De Gea.

Crystal Palace have not conceded more than 2 goals in a single game since 21st of December. They might play some ugly shite, but they are not conceding easily. On the other hand, Chelsea have serious problems with physical teams that have disciplined defence and are good in the air. The last games when they have dropped points were against West Ham, WBA and Aston Villa.

Surprised the amount of people who expect Man City to just power past Arsenal. I know they are not on form but winning at the Emirates isn't easy at all. I think Arsenal will at least force a draw.

Chelsea should power through their game. I think for them matches in between Champions League ties are the best chance of dropped points. However, you struggle to see where that will be looking at their fixtures on paper.

Saturday 29 March
Man United 1-2 Aston Villa - Head says 1-1 back of my mind says bollocking for Villa, if Fulham can go there and get a draw, Villa should beat them, deadly counter attack and away from home.
Crystal Palace 0-2 Chelsea - Will be pretty routine for Chelsea, will find it difficult in the opening minutes but will get a goal some how.
Southampton 2-0 Newcastle - Newcastle were dreadful against the blueshite, so I think this will be as you are for Southampton.
Stoke 1-0 Hull - Boring game, think Stoke will nick it.
Swansea 1-1 Norwich - Both teams for a meaningless point, although I'd back Swansea to stay up over Norwich.
West Brom 0-0 Cardiff - Again meaningless point for both.
Arsenal 1-2 Man City - Arsenal are too fragile to win the title, even when they were doing well, I always thought they would blow it, Man City will have too much for them.

Sunday 30 March
Liverpool 3-0 Tottenham - Sherwood to make a dick of himself again too.

I missed some out because I don't really care enough to predict.
