Correct, but we just bought Clyne and I doubt he will be able to push him for game time hence me saying I wish he was left footed so we could play him and Clyne. Could be tasty at CB but it will take longer for him to step up to the rigors required to play CB in the prem. More leeway at full back.

It can be useful to have a right footer on the left. See Arbeloa vs Messi 2007.

Could legit be a good option there. Only pre-season like but Rodgers seems to like him.
