The sponsors wouldn't be happy though, would they.
The reasons thy pay us gazillions of cash is to get their brand out there. Not for it to be omitted.
Don't get me wrong, I prefere shirts without sponsors myself, and the new rules regarding sponsorship on the sleeves etc, is just gonna make the shirt even more cluttered.
In the past, when our main sponsor was Carlsberg, you could still purchase an under 18s shirt without a sponsor, as it was against the rules to have alcohol sponsoring on clothes for minors. ( so you could have the option of no sponsor)
Again, it is against the rules to advertise alcohol in certain countries, which also means we played in sponsorless shirts on occasions.
The difference a sponsor makes!
