Fuck off Pearce you massive twat. Really hope Stevie puts in a fucking epic performance tonight and then retires from international football because he has been shit on from a great height with this decision.

Gerrard's lucky Cleverley is out for this one.

Not as lucky as The Netherlands.

That would be nice.

But can't see him retiring just before the Euro's.

madness from pearce, how does a guy who had 10 caps, doesn't captain their club, has never contributed to winning anything of worth and quite frankly isn't a world class player get to be england captain? With trophies and accomplishments comes respect, who would you trust more.. the man who led a team coming back from 3-0 down in a champions league final or a man who captained one of the strongest sides ever to be relegated. It's just madness from Pearce, even if its only game.

How does putting in a great performance tonight make any difference? I'd rather him have a bad game and get subbed at half time so we can have him fitter for Arsenal at the weekend.

Yeah that bloody selfish bastard Gerrard. Constantly winning trophies with and for his team like the selfish twat he is. Always being shunted out on the left for England to accomodate lesser players, and he doesn't even have the good grace to retire in a huff about it like the gentleman Paul "Scholesy" Scholes, the fucking selfish c*nt.

That's the FA telling Gerrard to fuck himself then.

He's playing for England. He'll be injured before the 90 minutes is up. He should pull out, but he won't.

Really couldn't care less if Gerrard was Captain. I'd rather he didn't play for them at all. Let the southerners have 'their' man.

I'll be more pissed off if Gerrard doesn't come off at halftime.. Why Pearce feels the need to play him anyway is beyond me.

The reason Pearce wants to play him, is because the only thing he cares about is furthering his management career. If he can get a good result tonight he probably thinks he'll be in charge for the Euros, so I fully expect Gerrard to play longer than he should do.

Not sure RVP is playing, (bet he plays Saturdy) so i think Gerrard should just have a lack lustre run out, then get himself off and warmed down at half time.

A better man Gerrard, totally unselfish.

Don't give a shite about England but this is a massive slap in the face of Stevie if true.

I don't even hold any grudge towards Parker.Although he milks the Lionheart crap the media dishes out with the limp etc,he is there best defensive midfielder and warrants a place in the side on recent form.

This stinks of the FA and London press' influence. They continue to let the politics effect their national side.

Hope the Bells get what they deserve.
That right peg hits it and you see the future arc of the ball and time goes al gluey like a Dali painting, and for a second there's a 20yr old StevenGerrard and your young self cheering him on through the prism. His big smile fades in an the net is shivering and J.Hart's trying not to look grateful for the privilege of being that close to greatness

Parker may have been chosen as one off maybe as a test. Peirce will not be leading England to the Euros, so the new manager will have a different approach. Stevie may feel put down, but I believe that he should lead England to the Euros ad bid them goodbye afterward. He's at the age where he needs to be selfish if he wants to play for a few years more. He's changing his role for the club to conserve energy, and I'd hate to see it spent on England. But then again, I'm not English and I don't care.

I'd like to see Gerrard get to 100 Caps just for his own pesonal satisfaction.

But would love him to score the first, pull up and get off the pitch then the Dutch rout them.

Pearce isnt the manager the media are - the FA are so fucking weak.

I wanted Pearce to get the job for comic value, but I don't think I can take the Woolnough-Custis-Barclay-Winter XI.

If there's any way Holland can win via murder - preferably directed toward the press box - then I'd take that.

Not to get too far off topic in the distaste of the FA and lack of respect shown to Gerrard (and our other players), but has anyone posted the Dutch lineup?
I watched a YouTube video and decided that Paul Konchesky looked like a player.

Shocking decision not to name Gerrard captain, and even more shocking to start him after playing 120 minutes on Sunday. Fuck off!! Why the fuck do we have internationals before a busy PL weekend. What a fucking farce. If Gerrard or anyone else gets injured tonight i'm going to be seriously fucked off.

Saw a manc on the BBC discussion forum for the captaincy say this:

"Should Gerrard be captain? Is he any more deserving of a starting place than Cleverley?"

No, really. He did. He actually did.
I trust the King, but if we lose a few more on the trot now - he may have to step aside, and we have to purchase another manager in the middle of the season. If we are relegated, this could be the end of our ambitions to win any title the next 100 years.

Gerrard snub is either collateral damage from the Suarez incident or Harry has told Pierce his nephew will be startng at the Euro's and not Gerrard.

I reckon it might be the former.

right, that decision has finished it for me with 'team england'. i was wavering for a bit, mainly for gerrard, johnson, downing etc but this team which hasnt got a striker with an england goal and leaves carroll behind who has, that picks a man who isnt his club captain and has won fuck all, oh and is a complete cockney quim as england captain, and a team thats managed by a jumped up 'sammy lee style training cone placer' as manager can just ruddy well sod off!!
