Nice to see you embracing the romance of the FA Cup.

Ahhh yes the romance of the cup, where the referee has a different rule book for each team and whoever gets it on the telly is absolutely DESPERATE for any 'cupset'
If he's being asked to head the ball too frequently - which isn't exactly his specialty - it could affect his ear and cause an infection. Especially if the ball hits him on the ear directly.

Your probably right, but I've waited about 40 years for a Liverpool v Newport game. Just got to beat Plymouth

We will likely play the mixed team of the EFL cup in this one - and put out a strong side against Soton away in Leg 1 of the EFL cup.

I feel like Chelsea have drawn lower league opposition at home for every FA Cup tie since about 2007.

Seems that way. As common as an easy draw in Europe for the mancs.

I like when the smaller clubs draw the bigger clubs, but it can sometimes be boring since they always play for the replay. I hope Newport go through (edit: go through to play against us. i dont mean go through at our expense. yikes.). Don't know which Newport it is, but I prefer both of them to Plymouth.

I'm not massively bothered about the FA Cup in general, but we're in it so I want us to win it.  ;D

And Arsenal |Hull
"All the lads have been talking about is walking out in front of the Kop, with 40,000 singing 'You'll Never Walk Alone'," Collins told BBC Radio Solent. "All the money in the world couldn't buy that feeling," he added.

4 meetings between tier 1 teams and 8/12 remaining tier 1 teams meet tier 2 teams. Could potentially see quite a few Premier League teams out after this round.

Seems like a smart move.  Definitely wouldn't be playing our full starting 11 in a 3rd round.

If I remember correctly, this FA Cup 3rd round is around quite a few matches.  Squad rotation around that time will be crucial to keeping everyone fit and available.

the magic of the FA Cup, where Alan Shearer loses all sense and thinks that every game shown on BBC there will be an upset. Where every dive from the minnows in the penalty box will most definitely be a penalty and where (as stated above) the ref has a different rule book...

Also it's where the BEEB will go to some local supporters pub when making the 4th round draw who'll all go "yeah we'll stuff the giants" and then get hammered.

Hoping for us to get 3 dodgy penalties after scoring 5 goals in the first 30 mins, all of the penalties are dives but the ref doesn't know any better. Chip on the goalie for the first, chip on the goalie for the second and another chip on the goalie for the third. Klopp goes mad on the touchline, has an absolute laugh and then is serenading Anfield at full time...

that's the real magic of the FA Cup..

This is one of those games which we should be spared extra time & head straight to penalties if someone doesn't get a Mane style late winner, still 0-0 in the 87th minute.

Not bothered at least we're at home, i wouldn't fancy playing on that dreadful Rodney Parade pitch had we'd been drawn away.

Just to add to the comedy, the player who scored 2 penalties for Plymouth a couple of months ago against Newport refused to take this one.
