We will challenge for the title next season even if we don`t bring anyone let alone if we address a couple of issues in our team. I can feel it, I can sense it.

Since the Villa game we`re top of the league and have scored the most goals. It was the moment we got the likes of Coutinho, Sturridge and Origi back from the injuries, it was the moment we realized Benteke needed to be benched permanently for his negative influence on our attacking play and it was the moment we had more time to prepare for games and had better luck with injuries.

The reason I say we`d be up there even with only two new guys who are already ours is that Klopp got to know his players better and what works and what doesn`t and also that our players are able to adopt his methods better and better with every game.

Our attack is transformed and you have that same feeling as in 13/14 when we were lethal in front of the goal. Reasonable luck with injuries and goalkeeper improvement will go a long way to ensure we`re up there with City and Spurs next season.
Prophetic post this.
Look down, look down, you'll always be a slave.

Outstanding and I love that he's not at all scared to call out our fans for being miserable. Admittedly though he should not have to be doing this when we're 2nd, with the best attack in the league. Our fans should know there's a very good chance a goals coming therefore back the team to go get it.

Agreed. Never underestimate the power of motivation. However well paid, professional yada yada modern PL players are, they're still only human, and that extra energy and belief that you can dig out of yourself when you know your manager and 50,000 fans are right behind you is what got us over the line. We have a truly special manager, and I hope he is with us for a long, long time.

What Klopp has set out to do is eliminate the cult of the individual in terms of how fans can perceive the importance of a single player in relation to the team's success. He removed the reliance on Sturridge by building an attack.

Yet despite his efforts, the injury to Coutinho has sent some into a spiral of despair. I'm pretty sure Klopp will have a plan.

You make a very good point about the love for individual players within the fanbase. One only needs to quickly look through the Sturridge thread for an example. It's understandable to some extent that the fanbase are panicking about the injury to Coutinho, who IMO has been the best player in the league and has been our best player since Suarez left. And there have been murmurs from the club itself suggesting that Klopp wants to build the team around Coutinho.

Yet, every time a question about Coutinho is put forward to Klopp, he almost always talks about how the team is really strong and there are a number of other quality players in the squad like Firmino, Lallana etc. That sort of man management must surely push players to play better, while at the same time inculcating a strong team ethic into the squad. If Coutinho is injured, that's a massive shame for us. However, we do have the players that can step in and perform while he may not be available. I really like the kind of team mentality Jurgen has brought to the club.
Quote from: Dion Fanning

The chants for Kenny Dalglish that were heard again on Wednesday do not necessarily mean that the fans see him as the saviour. This is not Newcastle, longing for the return of Kevin Keegan. Simply, Dalglish represents everything Hodgson is not and, in fairness, everything Hodgson could or would not hope to be.

Some nonsense in the papers today about Bayern wanting Kloop. Can't see that happening FSG have tied him down with a long term contract. And I reckon he is actually worth many 10's of millions a year to the club in new fans and merchandise sales worldwide. The guy is infectious.

It's not so much the love for individual players, cultish or otherwise, because that's a completely natural thing for supporters, as always. It's more the overreliance on individuals for drive and motivation. The sense of quickly speading demoralisation if your star misses a game or two for example, or the constant drama surrounding a single player throughout an entire season (Suarez, Gerrard, Torres, etc.). But that idiosyncratic quality still counts for something in this side, it just isn't a ticket to ride along languidly as though you own the place.

Funnily enough, it took a highly individual cult hero, Klopp himself, to gee us up enough to nab those 3 points!  ;D

The man is tied down to a lengthy contract, he has openly said he wants to be here and win silverware for many years and most importantly, its media bullshit.

He is going nowhere so lets please not give this anymore airtime.

Hang on, why is Ancelotti even under pressure?!

This smacks of when Torres was bang in form and suddenly the media were speculating his transfer to another club because they can't stand LFC being remotely successful again!!

How lucky we are to have jurgen FSG were bang on getting rid of Brendan when they did. If they would have waited till end of that season to get shut many clubs would have been in the running for our Jurgen.
Like a bottle of wine the reds get better and better.
