58' - Lucas (yes Lucas) with a penetrating run through the middle. Passes the ball to Can just inside the box - sadly, with Moreno to his left, Can seems to forget where he is and takes a poor shot straight at the keeper.

Leeds about to make a 3rd sub.

60' - Can threads a ball through but good defending from Taylor to shield the ball from Mane

We're staring to play a bit better but still nowhere near what we've become used to this season.

Moreno passes the ball through to Gini who is pushed out of the field of play. No foul.

62' - Stewart requires attention after copping a hand in the face.

63' - Stewart appears to have recovered. Philips crosses the ball to Roofe and Klavan does well to shadow him and block the kick. Corner

Bartley gets onto the end of it (pretty unopposed) but heads wide.

Stewart off for Woodburn.

65' - We were playing with 10 men and Mignolet makes a good save to his left as Leeds break through.

67' - Leeds looking threatening for a good 6 minutes or so. Mane earns a FK on the right. Once again, we've got bodies in the box but are unable to actually do anything with it.

We're looking so static in the final third.

69' - Origi appears to limping a bit. It has to be said that the first teamers (Can, Mane, Origi, Gini) have not had the impact we would have expected.

71' - Story of the night. Gini with a sharp chance across the face of the goal that strikes the post, comes out, is struck again into traffic and no goal.

That was as close as the Leeds effort

Looked like Milner was coming on, but Origi continues

What a beauty. Stunning backheel from Ejaria to Origi who sends it neatly to Gini with a lovely touch to Woodburn who smashes it in

[/size]Clyne is a quality player, but you get the feeling that if he's ever injured or suspended he might have a very hard time indeed winning his place back from young Alexander-Arnold. That was a cross of the very very highest quality.

Apparently young Ben is now the youngest player by some 3 months to have scored for the Liverpool first team.

89' - Divock brought down again by Doukara - he is very, very lucky not to have collected a 2nd card and sent off.

and now Origi is given a Yellow for giving the ref lip.

As he is subbed, the crowd chants "Divock Origi", Klopp gives him a great big hug and a couple of slaps on the back.

Grujic on.

Absolutely made up for Woodburn, what a week the lad's had.  ;D

We were really made to work for that, credit to Leeds who took the game to us in the second half. Our quality came through in the end though, and that's all that really matters. On to the semi-final.

Third clean sheet in a row, another highly professional 2-0 with 2 latish goals after a very hard fought match, great showing from the youngsters and also really nice to see Mane and Wijnalidum, who had worked hard but had lacked a little something, combining beautifully with Origi to set up our youngest ever goalscorer.

The kind of disciplined, patient and professional performance that we haven't seen regularly, if at all, since Benitez left and, because of that, one of my favourite matches to watch this season.
