They played away mid-week in CL while we've had all week to train - that's got to be an advantage...but I'd take a draw.

I feel if we win this... and with the current situation with the top 4 (City drawing last week and Arsenal loosing last night), that our last few months results will be forgotten. We are in a good position to wedge ourselves into the mix for champions league next season.

This is most probably a very trivial issue, but I thought Paul Senior on The Anfield Wrap Tuesday Review hit the nail on the head concerning our passing. Henderson's ability to make a forthright pass with pace and conviction often is the catalyst to really get the ball zipping around the field and begin attacking movements. Maybe we're just spoilt having witnessed Gerrard all these years but it's telling how Gerrard couldn't accommodate his style of passing with some players in the England national squad - Andy Johnson couldn't control a pacey Gerrard pass, thus Stevie had to inhibit his natural style to suit lesser players so to speak. I don't think this is a problem with this squad considering we have players of the technical calibre to handle a fast paced passing style.

It seems we lacked that ability to move the ball against Burnley, and we could really do with a bit more 'oomph' to our passing tomorrow. It's something that Can definitely needs to work on as his role is crucial to forming attacking movements. He too often seems to alternate between wayward unobtainable passes or slow sluggish passes. Hitting the right pass at the right speed should be a prerequisite for a deep lying midfielder as it will help us in setting the pace and controlling the tempo in midfield.

Honestly i'm very confident about our chances and i don't say that often. I don't want to jinx us, while Man City has been better than us defensively i don't believe they've held a clean sheet against the top 6. I remember they even shipped 4 goals to Everton a couple months back. It's crucial we score first, but even if we don't I still see us nicking a couple goals. I'd be very happy holding them to 2 goals, if we do that i think we can at least grab a draw.

West Brom did us a massive favour by beating Arsenal yesterday!

A win or a draw is needed to capitalise on our good fortune.

A defeat and it's just given us more breathing space.

Come on you mighty Reds, you can do this.

Considering the past injuries we've had and certain players possibly lacking match fitness, add to that we've only ever won twice at the Etihad. I'd take a draw if it was offered me. Saying that, there is no reason why we can't win given our record against the big teams and our recent record against Man City.

Staying positive, I'm going to go for a close 1-0 or 2-1 to Liverpool.

Think the next two games could well define our season. I'd take a point, however City really haven't been playing all that well at home and it's hard to know how they'll react from their defeat in midweek.

Bob back is massive for us. I'd honestly keep Ragnar in the team next to Matip. We've not been beaten this season when they've started together.

I find Guardiola hard to decode. Having said that, I think he is finding the transition to the Premier league harder than he assumed. It is a wake up call for most of the foreign managers. In a weird way, I wonder if what Milner says to the team might be the most relevant comments for them going in to the game.

A win isn't imperative. Plenty of games to go, and they still have to play a fair share of tough games.

I'd say it's more imperative we don't lose.

I liked how Monaco played against them in that first half, really went at them playing a high line and really condensing the game in City's half - difference being they had a central defender and two full back that were very pacey. They trusted that if City ever caught them out they would recover. Problem we have, none of our defense is really lightening quick to play a high line.

Is that code for "we should start Moreno"?  ;D

Hope we can have one of Henderson or Firmino ready for this. Those two guys make a massive contribution to the energy and stamina we need for our pressing game and man, do we need it today! Yes, we've got Lallana and Mane, but the more the merrier.

While I'm not over the moon with Can against the smaller teams where he slows us down a lot, he does shine in the big games so I have no issue with him in midfield. He will calm down things in the middle and he'd we need his frame in there.

You have to expect City to have a wee extra zest in their game after the defeat midweek and btw the two sides they are the form side with just two losses in 2017 (1 in the league 1 in Europe). We know how our New Year went but the last two results have put a bit of pep in our step so hopefully we can give as good as we can get. Think our Plan A has to be on the ball from min 1 as looking at our options on the bench we have very few if any game changers. Klopp has had a whole week to plan for this game, fresher legs so the bench should not even be a factor. Cmon the lads I would take a draw away at City any day of the week.

With the result yesterday, and the fact that those around us still have a few games against each other to play I see this as a bit of a shot to nothing. A win puts us in a fantastic position, a defeat is far from the end of the world.

Probably a draw then.

He's like the anti mourinho.  His philosophy depends on having a phenomenal group of mainly attacking players with a strong work ethic.

Shitcoat depends on a phenomenal bunch of mostly defensive players to kill football matches. Both have had exactly what they need up until now.
Pep is also not a thundering wankbag of a human being.

I can't make my mind up on this game so I'll guess score draw.

I am rather confident for this one really, they had a mid-week CL game, we have a very decent record against top six this season. A point is acceptable though.

Suits us to play these, not often we can say this against most team but we have a case of having a better defence than city ha.

Expecting Goals goals and more goals so the likely hood is it'll end 0-0  ::)

I'm more confident about City away than I was about Burnley at home. City clearly don't like playing us and our record is good against them. Think we will sneak it.

And I for one am looking for to hearing City's one and only song, 'Come on City, Come on City!'

There's far too much optimism here  ;D

If we turn up with the right mentality we're more than capable of getting something. City will be keen to get back on track after going out of Europe and will make it tough. I think they'll be sound for top 4.

Could do with not losing this though, don't want us to go into the last 8 or so games having to take almost maximum points against shite teams like West Ham and Watford away from home if we want to get a place in the european cup.

A 2-1 win for Man City.
It could be this....  I can see it happening...  but I can equally see 3-0 to us

Will they be angry?  Will we raise our game again??  I never like trying to call games, but this one is particularly tough..
