The series is based upon an earlier film..y'all know that yeah...

Giving it a download now, Pete. If it's even half as good as Gomorrah I'm sure I'll love it.

Downloading Episode 1 myself mate. Report back here later or even in the Romanzo Criminale dedicated thread, which didn't really see much action to be honest and that worried me.

It seems the general consensus is that the Series is better than the Film?

That correct Dave?

Yeah...there's more depth and more stoylines going on in the series...it helps that like 1992 it's set in an era of politcal upheaval within Italy and it's not just about mafiosi unlike Gomorrah was...if you recall the Brigate Rosse...the political assinations along with fascist attacks..their boming of Bologna railway station..Criminale takes place with all of that and more in the background.

Romanzo Criminale is great (series > film) for the reasons stated by Dave and it also looks fantastic, really captures the 70's and early 80's era (music, fashion, cars etc). Some brilliant characters and some truly memorable scenes.

Romanzo Criminale was excellent mainly down to the fashion and cars in 70s Italy. Great show.

I couldn't find any, Brentie. I'm downloading the eps now and then I'll go on subscene to see if I can find the subtitles.

EDIT: ... which they don't have. :-[

Whilst you're in there..both seasons of Matrioshki are available with HC subs...if you've read my posts in the tv thread you'll know I think this is worth a watch. In fact, y'all should have a look here at the post I made with the YT vids and IMDb links....some great and good series in it.

The series is vastly superior to the movie, IMO. But then again, I didn't rate that movie all that much.

You're all welcome.

If you can get onto tvchaos you should..there's series on there that are really difficult to get hold of...all..I think with HC subs.

I had done a Google translate on that bit after so did know that Dave ,ta la.

Downloaded the torrent now ,tried to register on TVCUK and it asks for a invite code (pm'd you to ask if you've got one ;)) tried out piratebay and it won't load the page on my laptop? Is my provider putting a block on it do you reckon? Seen on Google something about using a proxy from the piratebay proxy list? Is this legit?

Nothing goes straight forward for me  doing this stuff so sorry to be a hassle ;D

Season 2 currently in filming.  Out April next year i hear.  GoT season 6 and Gomorrah season 2 along with LFC battling for a Europa spot will be amazing :)

Can anyone find a link to all the series 1 episode recaps or spoilers?  I cant seem to find much on the internet. This series still seems to have gone under the radar somewhat.

Or maybe someone answer me the following question?:

Spoiler
Sometime near the end of series 1 there were a load of young hoodlums working for Ciro who had previously assassinated all the old school gangsters loyal to Pietro.  All these young lads were then killed sitting in a van during an ambush inside a tunnel.

I cant remember for the life of me who organized the hit on all the mad young scally types?

Anyone help?
[close]

Edit: Sorry forget my question above

Spoiler
Remembered now.  All the young scallies were loyal to Genny and it was Ciro and Conte's men who ambushed them in the tunnel and killed them. While Ciro shot Genny himself.

Watched series again last week and much to my (pleasant) surprise enjoyed it more that the first time. Brilliant TV and as I have said before a far more brutal and unromantic depiction of drug crime and the impact it has on communities/society, then some US (or UK ) offerings.

Netflix have commissioned a TV series based on Suburra. Gangsters, Politicians And The Vatican. Brilliant, apart the fact, that we'll have to wait until 2017
Netflix are on a roll,i trust them to nail it like they did with Narcos.

Will have to watch season 1 of Gomorra again in the new year before the new season is out.

Picked this earlier from KAT and watched it...bene,bene, molto bene.

I did post about it in the film thread earlier...but I thought as it might get lost in the shuffle I'd throw it up in here too.

No trailer for Season 2?
If it acts like a cock and a banner appears on the kop with its name written down the shaft of a cock, it probably is...

Yeah definitely up there! Trying to convince mates to watch it now but as soon as I mention it's Italian that seems to be a stumbling block.
