Just watched the latest episode.

Looks like the next episode is going to be a bloody affair.

Brilliant episode that, can't wait for the last one now

If I had to guess, I'd imagine there wouldn't be many survivors by the time it finishes. As long as Genny and all his bellend mates get finished off I'll be happy enough

I want to see Ciro's right hand man get a bullet.  Think his name is Rosario O 'Nano. He's a right sneaky horrible looking fucker.

Fucking Hell!! Major last episode spoiler below.

Spoiler
Thought it was strange one of the old clan escaped assassination. Knew as soon as they showed you Don Pietro getting transferred and it hinted that Ciro was going to kill him it was going to be the old clan busting him out.

I never once suspected Don Pietro was faking his mental illness though

Looks like Genny isn't dead either.

Setup nicely for season 2.  Brilliant series.

And......I'm back in the room.

That's one of the pains about bingeing on a series. You don't get to talk about it unless everyone else has done the same.

Good eh?

PS I heard the writer was in hiding from the Mob due to their anger at the way they've been portrayed. Anyone substantiate this?

Spoiler
God yeah, the scene at the cemetery was tense as fuck as Ciro realized Genny was on to him.

Going back to the prison van bust.  It was a fucking awesome piece of telly.  When all the guards were dead and the doors blown open, Malammore revealed his face. Don Pietro just coolly held his hands up for the handcuffs to be taken off, Kissed Malammore and calmly walked to the waiting car.  He just knew all along this was the plan. Mindblowing scene and a superb end to the series.  Gonna watch the last 20 minutes again later.

Series 2: Don Pietro/Genny/Old Clan Vs Conte and Ciro :)

Did a triple-episode hit last night. Wow! This series just gets better and better. The episode set in Spain (was it Barcelona?) was just fantastic. Really gripping stuff and it's all heating up well for the final few episodes.
Only downside, today I can't get that brilliantly brooding theme tune out of my head.

It's on both IPT and PB.

Great series. The actor who played Danielino was actually plucked from a mafia background to enhance the role. Since then he's been arrested for his part in a gang attack on a man at a tube station in Naples.

Can't wait for the next season.

Monday comes back round again and it feels like the first Saturday after the football season ends. Only today it's no Gomorrah to look forward to. :(

I do hope they are commissioning a second series right now.

Agree with all the comments. Superb stuff. never less than tense and menacing.

Spoiler
Don't think you need to worry. The ending was clearly contrived to set up the next series but worked amazingly - possibly as good a twist to set up another series as there's ever been. I defy anybody to say they knew Don Pietro hadn't gone completely doolally.

I'm the opposite.  I called Don Pietro's rescue by Malammore as soon as it set us all up to think Ciro and Conte were going to kill Pietro in transit.  It was all too strange how Malammore escaped assassination earlier in the episode when Little Baron and all the other top members of the old clan were killed.  But NO WAY did i suspect that Pietro had been faking the mental illness all along and the transfer and rescue were all part of his master-plan.

Don Pietro - One stone cold cool bastard. Love the character.

See that's one of the other things I called. No one will ever be able to confirm that as I watched it alone.

I'm not saying I'm mastermind,I just saw a lot of the twists coming.

Not that Pietro would be rescued like that, just got that he was faking it.

Doesn't mean I didnt love it. Fantastic show.
