Anyone got a stencil for the old League Championship trophy (the pre-Premiership one?) Also, the European Cup above seems to have rather small 'ears' - does anyone have one which is the correct proportions? Cheers for the 1st Liverbird above, Stuie... I'd accidentally deleted mine off my computer.

Average banner size is about 1200mm x 2400mm or 8' x 4' in old money, The finished article is usually a bit smaller after trimming and hemming etc.

If you are going to be hanging over an upper tier more often than not it is best to make them a bit narrower as they can hang over and obstruct the view of fans on the lower level.

Yeah the units it how many meters long you want it, i usually get 9 - 12 metres long at a time to have some 'in stock' for off the cuff painted banners.

I use wonder web which im guessing is he same (iron on stuff) but then i get all the letters stitched round by a dressmaker / curtain maker / anyone who is a whizz on a singer ... costs about £50 but it is well worth it and really gives your banner a top quality finish.

I used bondaweb on my last banner to fix everything in place, then one of my mum's mates stitched it all for me. I wouldn't trust the bondaweb on its own like.

Got her all laid out on the table now though, she's looking pretty good.

Incidentally, anyone else stupid enough to consider cutting a laurel wreath out od individual pieces of green felt, my advice is a firm DON'T.  :no

what I did with Zen Rafa and all his little grey and black bits (cause there are loads of fiddly bits) was to cut out where the grey was going to be on the main black outline then glue the grey behind it so it showed through.  It worked a treat you could try it that way round its much easier, ill post some pictures up later showing the stages i took if anyone wants them

Does anybody have stencils for letters?

Just make the fonts vey big, and then print off letters. If you need them bigger than A4, use a photocopier to blow them up.

My technique is to print off the letters (in black on white), and then lay my white felt over it. You can then see enough of the black letter through the felt to be able to mark it out with a felt tip. Then you just cut the letter out of the felt. I've attached a couple of pics below to show you my progress...
