Isn't there some weird rule regarding off side when behind the goalkeeper? Would Sturridge have been off if Moreno passed to him?

I'm gonna take a guess that Moreno wasn't thinking of that at the time :D Probably thinking what noise the side of a cow would make if he threw a brick at it.
If he's being asked to head the ball too frequently - which isn't exactly his specialty - it could affect his ear and cause an infection. Especially if the ball hits him on the ear directly.

Commentators saying that Pulis annoyed as he wasn't getting the marginal decisions ! What!

Constantly pulling your opponent is ok in Pulis land.

Origi has his shirt ripped as evidence if they want it.

That'll do nicely. Hate the snide shite which referees and commentators too often let slide as "robust play" for Pulis' teams.

Moreno - good lad, tries hard, tons of stamina, decent pace, loads of tenacity and a decent amount of ability too, who will never, ever make it as a top-tier footballer because he is just profoundly and explosively stupid, bless him.

That said Gini should still have passed to him for that second go at a Fosterless goal.

Should he shite have. He made the right decision not giving it him after the last attempt he had. ANY other player would keep it simple, but Moreno would prob think to play keepy up then smash it ;D
We may sign Salah, but I'll show my arse in the middle of town if we sign one of VVD or Keita. Not gonna happen.

Two back-to-back away wins. More and more players on the way back from injury. Massive few performances by the team and the manager over the last few weeks. If CHelsea take something from unitd today it is in Liverpool's hands once more...

We won it doesn't matter.

Not today, but thats exactly the type of "game closure" thats cost us about 10 points this season. We got lucky today. The lame clearing headers straight to the oppo on the edge of the box. The ping-pong on the edge of the box. Own players crashing into each other. It's our biggest weakness and must be priority #1 to improve in the summer.

Great result. Happy with that.

Moreno couldn't play in Studge after a while as he would have been offside, he should have used Can or Firmino instead.

Also the commentator suggesting Lovren's knee back to Migs was a pass back!? Wtf?

Not if he was behind the ball. Otherwise, yes, there need to be at least two defending players in front of the offensive player for him to be onside.
That's what I thought.

Sturridge looked about level with Moreno so he'd have been ok I assume?

Fucking Moreno.

I know West Brom are in a very good position but imagine forking good money out to watch that shite every week?

Yeah, it's not like they're going to win anything. If I was a West Brom fan I'd rather see attractive football and finish 17th than dogshit football and finish 12th. Or try some decent football for the first half of the season and then turn defensive second half if that goes tits-up. But I guess you need to drill in tactics early on and you need certain players to do the latter that might not be capable of decent football

I might be exaggerating or whatever but for me that result is maybe the biggest under Kopp,  you could see we had planned for them and dealt with everything they had.

I thought Lucas was crucial and it's no coincidence that playing a recognised DM made us better defensively. Firmino as well....Brilliant.

On another note, I said in the pre match thread that if we were going to go 3-4-3, I'd like to see Moreno instead of Milner. I now completely take this back and never want him to see him kick a ball for us again ;D

Couple of things. A good defensive performance against exactly the type of team who would normally have given us a lot of trouble. Fantastic save from Mignolet one on one with Williams, and a couple of solid clearances from crosses.

Second, I don't know what the complaint is about Moreno, he robs that player then gets himself in a perfect spot to shoot. His shot had too much bend on it. I've seen much better players than him miss easier chances, and he had just come on and was hardly warm. Had he passed to Sturridge the correct call would have been offside, since only one defender was further back than either of our players.

All in all a result I would have very happily taken, especially as I dreamed last night we got clobbered 3-0!!

3 points. Doesn't matter now if United scrape a draw against Chelsea, we have a massive advantage, and we keep the pressure on City for the 3rd spot.
