Schalke should have won it in normal time.

Also glad Beşiktaş are out.

Hope Utd get a home draw first. Much tougher playing the first leg at home.

I know you can only play what is in front of you but they've had such an easy route in this competition.

Of course they drew Celta Vigo  :lmao

Like I said before, it'll be down to one of Ajax/Lyon to make a miracle of it and beat them in a one off final. They otherwise wouldn't over two legs.

There was no doubt - almost conversely how there was no doubt we would be facing the toughest draw last season.

Underestimating Celta would be a very foolish thing to do. They knocked Real Madrid out of the Copa Del Rey over 2 legs and beat Barcelona at home earlier in the season. They're very inconsistent but they can beat absolutely anybody. United will obviously start favourites but don't dismiss Celta.

Just a shame Giuseppe Rossi can't come back to haunt them, poor fucker got injured again.

Actually, Celta is the worst opponent for the Mancs from the remaining teams. Unlike Lyon or Ajax, teams that like to play attacking football, Celta know how to sit back and kill you on the counter attack. Their defence is pretty settled and experienced, especially their Argentinian pair of central defenders. And Berizzo is a very good tactician who will frustrate Maureen.

Although Ajax are full of young promising talent, I think they'd shit the bed having to go to Old Trafford. Celta are more experienced and would handle that pressure better imo.

I'm surprised at the lack of whinging about an easy draw for United, which is good as none of the teams left are easy. Celta are a good side and it's win-win for us anyway as long as they can't get into the top four. Hopefully they don't win it but more games puts more pressure on them.

I am not sure why people are discrediting Celta, they are more capable of beating United than Ajax or Lyon. They are inconsistent however they know how to play in big games and have beaten better sides than United. This is the worst draw remaining for them

Bah. Lyon would have ripped these apart, with the bare-bones defense they have now. Tolisso, Lacazette, Fekir and Valbuena would have had a field day over two legs with this United side.

Europa League Semi-Final 1st leg     (no idea why they are playing on a Wednesday - hours before a CL semi)

it's cos May 4th is a rememberance day in Holland, with ceremonies, and a silence is always held a 8pm, including on TV / radio I believe.

so the game has been moved to the day before, and an early kickoff so it doesn't clash with the CL game.

Ajax take the lead in the 25th minute through Traore. Not been concentrating much on the game to be honest, but of what I have seen, Lyon seemed to be dominating!

Haven't followed Ajax properly the last couple of seasons, I used to love watching them around 2008-2012.

Seems like they have more new talents in Sanchez, Ziyech and Dolberg (who's just scored as I type this!). Good to see!

Makes a massive change to when they used to have the likes of Pantelic and Poulsen (I shudder at that name), of course they had Suarez, Eriksen, Vertonghen and the likes to make up for it.  ;D

Lacazette or Dolberg don't have a preference, hopefully we get either one of them in the summer.

Dolberg already stated this week that he wouldn't go to a United and City type club yet because he wouldn't get playing time, if he were to come to us he would be starting games as Klopp has stated he is a massive fan of his.

I don't think stating he's a fan = starting lots of games ;)  He said it in an interview with a Dutch journalist I believe, so no surprise I guess some questions where geared towards dutch football. (or A Danish journo rather - editing after seeing the post below).

It's a huge step up, and he'd not be starting a shit ton of games ahead of any of our top 3 forward line. But anyway, he seems a wise lad - already said he's not ready for the jump up in leagues, hopefully he doesn't have a too pushy agent and he stays where he is next season.

No he wouldn't be a starter. Where exactly would he be starting then?

Klopp hardly waxed lyrical about him either. He was asked by a Danish paper about Dolberg and politely answered back that he's a talent.

Ajax dominated the first leg against Schalke but almost blew it in the return game. They could do with putting this game to bed tonight.
I've just wiped the sticky residue from my bellend onto the television screen. Taste it Leo. You deserve it.
I would honestly let Wijnaldum jizz in my face right now
