I hope the referee will use the vanishing spray.

He did in the US - France game, it worked pretty nice actually

First of all, I was pleasantly surprised with the US performances. Nevermind the scoreline, USA actually dominated the large spells of the Spain match. And could have won vs France. That is above my personal expectations before the tourney. Also, USA defeated Portugal before the start.

Anyway, hopefully, Spain beat France, and USA smash Ghana. Ghana's defense is pretty bad, so it is doable.

As for the Spain-Ghana match, Spain got dominated for large spells yet again. It is safe to say this team isn't nearly as talented as the U21 team. The biggest difference is in midfield. Oliver Torres may grow up to be a cracking attacking midfielder, but he is not the dominant type. I think Campana, the captain, was supposed to be one, but he has been one of the weaker Spanish players so far.

Overall, tournament is reminding us that this is U20. So many erratic plays, unforced errors. From Barca's point of view, Delufeu seems a very fast, tricky winger on the positive side, but also a bit of a primadonna walking about the pitch quite often demanding the ball. The main worry is that he has a bit of Tello in him. Wrong decisions, some simple errors when passing 4-5 yards and just looking erratic.

He's still a teenager, he may iron that out. But in my experience of watching youth tourneys, players like Thiago, Iniesta, Isco, Canales stood out even at this level with a bright head. Torres was erratic though, but managed to become of the better strikers in the world football for a while.

He is standing out to me, some of the runs he makes are very good for someone his age, reminds me of Sterling in that regard, although he is less polished than Sterling is. Worth noting we're only the 2nd game in and if they go onto win the tournament i don't think anyone can say this current lot are worse than the u21s, if you remember clearly Spain go a knocked out in the quarters in 2011 and that was a group that contained Isco Canales  Rodrigo Koke Pacheco and Tello in it.

I don't understand all the focus on the negative here.  This is U20, there is no such thing as the complete player at this level.  Messi and Ronaldo were not complete players at 19.  Even now, Ronaldo has a lot of faults, but is still the 2nd best in the world.

Equally intriguing games in group C, all teams can still make it to the 1/8 finals.

Chile have no pressure bringing the ball out of defence, while when England have it they're pressurized already and a long clearance is a result which inevitably goes back to Chile and they start again.  I reckon the possession is about 80-20 in favor of chile after 15 minutes so far.

Lol. Seriously could it be that difficult to find a talented coach to manage these youngsters. It's ridiculous.

I really do not understand these tactics Taylor is implementing.

Ward-Prouse, brought into the Southampton team under Adkins playing good football, backup to a team coached by Pochettino playing good football. Here, has no control along with Coady (very composed) and Barkley.

England will be quite happy with a point after their somewhat dismal first half showing. They could and should have won it in the 2nd half with the Pritchard header, although Chile had a couple of chances of their own to win.

Barkley, Kane and Williams all looked really good, I thought.
