Boris obviously didn't want to win the Out campaign. The minute he did, he'd lost as he knows whichever decision he makes in the future will piss some group or other off as he'd have to betray a promise. Fucking politicians though.

That would be my take, a close remain win would of seen off Cameron and left Johnson as the obvious candidate to unite the Party and take them forward. Things spiralled out of control Leave won and not even Boris is Bonkers enough to press the article 50 self destruct button.

I wouldn't be jumping to any conclusions  here. Johnson and May have had their differences. Boris' support could go a number of ways.
