Good luck Doss. Hope everything goes well for you with Napoli.
"I was pleased also with Peter Crouch. We have been talking to him, before and after his nose operation, to show more confidence with his heading.

"Now it seems to have worked. Lets say that if he has a few games without scoring again, maybe we should arrange to break his nose again."

Good luck with making the World Cup Dossena. He was an awful fullback but a good professional, guess he'll be more suited to Napoli's wingback formation. As everyone else said, yea we'll always remember those 2 goals.

Larger fee than I expected to recoup for him which means he wasn't purely a rubbish signing, just a very mediocre one. Insua usurping him says quite a bit.

Shame it never worked out for Dossena, the summer we signed him & Degen it seemed we were going into the new season with 2 attacking full-backs who could add a different dimension to the team. Unfortunately it has never really worked out for either...

To echo everybody's sentiments though, fair play to him. Been a top pro, when things weren't going his way, he never whined or moaned, just got his head down & worked hard. That in itself seems to be a rarity for many Footballers these days.

Thanks for those two majestic strikes Andrea, good luck back home.  :wave

Worth it, just for those 2 goals.

£7M for 2 goals in games that were already won? Yeah, clearly worth it.

Has obvious qualities but didn't work out for him. Will always remember the 4th against Real Madrid and Man Utd.

All the best and hope to see him in the World Cup.

Another one bites the dust.Only Riera left from that great summer of 2008 where the wallet last was seen but unfortunately for us was wasted.

Decent lad, horrible defender who looked like he could have left when the first transfer window opened last January. Thanks for the two goals but can you pay us back the money we loss?

Those 2 goals were worth the £3m

Who's gonna score our 4th goal against the big teams now?

Good of luck to Dossena for the future. Hope we get to see him in the World Cup this summer.

Never forget the 4th goal at the toilet, some twat in the pub the year before when Steve Bennet was playing as their 12th man made some comment after their 3rd goal went in,about how humiliating it must be to be loosing by 3. Fuck I enjoyed ramming that back down his throat.

Just love the way VDS was rooted to the spot watching it sail in over his head.

Best of luck Doss (and Im sorry I complained about you coming on at OT) and thanks for that great week.
I'll always keep in my heart the good times I've had here, the strong and loyal support of the fans in the tough times and the love from Liverpool. I have no words to thank you enough for all these years and I am very proud to say that I was your manager.

think the biggest thing that stood against Doss was Degan.
with the purchase of 2 attacking full backs we could have seen a new dimension to liverpool, maybe a new formation, and some different play from the team. but with degan getting injured stepping out of his medical that plan was gone. he didn't fit into the conventional back 4 and by the time we got johnson who could play the role that degan was meant to he'd fallen behind Fab and Insua.

still he was handy getting forward and did ok as a makeshift left-mid at times.

that's just my opinion though
If Tevez signs I will be the first man in history to run from Sydney to Melbourne in complete and utter nudity  :D

Not good enough for Liverpool and certainly not as good as Fabio and Emiliano.

Best of luck for his future, good sale!

the difference between emiliano and him is that Rafa seems to be giving him more matches. Absolute bollox to say that emiliano is better than Dossena at the moment.

he was brilliant and unlucky against pompey last year, should have scored but hit the post with 2 headers.

seems he is also a brilliant attacker of the headers. we wont be seeing any headed goals anytime soon.

To be fair to the lad, he's probably about as good, if not better, than Insua is at left-back.

Fairwell Doss, to be honest I think he deseved more of a chance in his natural position, he obviously had quality there or we wouldn't have signed him in the first place. Will always remember those two goals, as well as hitting the bar twice against Fulham in the first half ;D
