At City away last season we had "They're magic, you know, Coutinho and Firmino" which worked well.

In the case of Sturridge it's because some people don't like it, yet no one can think of a better one for him. Therefore we just don't sing a song for him, when he has one that we could sing.

Sturridge has some boss songs, but I can see why they've never taken off en masse.

I never understood why we couldn't just use the Torres song and change the lyrics, it works perfectly with his name and everyone can have'a bounce.

Don't think he'll ever have a song, there wasn't one when he was banging them in there won't be now every scrote has him under a microscope.

I'm very surprised the "Super Dan" song hasn't been given a try for Sturridge like we used to sing for Danny Murphy:

"Super, super Dan
Super, super Dan
Super, super Dan
Super Daniel Sturridge"

Easy one to get going.

Also for Firmino to the old Momo Sissoko tune:

"He's magic, you knoooowww
Roberto Firminooooo"

Neither difficult and songs we've had for players in the past.

Me and my mate had a go at getting the Firmino one going in the upper main stand against West brom but it fell flat  :-\

Now is the time for some serious creativity and additions to our repertoire, as well as giving some older lesser known songs an airing.

It’s difficult if you can’t get to the games to get them started but those who do, should keep the new ones and decent old  ones  pumping in the ale house before games  with their mates and then to a bigger audience.
Some good observations have been made on here in recent weeks. Singing, and atmosphere are a big thing in Jurgen Klopp’s footballing theory. That’s why we have a huge responsibilty to remind him and the team just who we are and to make us a place that players want to come to. The other arguments about safe stading and the halfy halfy scarves , bell-ends on the Kop checking their mobiles and taken photos of opposition players  have contributed to deteriorating atmosphere, but that’s another story.

There are older songs that need to be given an airing and it was a good to put them in to different categories as someone did a couple of weeks ago.
1)   When the team have their backs up to the wall:

In the past the Kop used to belt out; “Come on Scousers, come on scousers!”

Or “Get into them! Get into them!!” (this was also used to encourage the Annie Rd to charge at the opposition but that’s another story too!)

Another one which was aimed to get the team back into the game was “Come on you mighty reds, come on you mighty reds, come on you reds, come on you mighty reds”  (To the tune of “ those were the days my friend”- incidendly another cracking song which was sung widely in the late 60s and 70s)

2)   With the team swarming forward, the Kop used to just push them forward with  “Li-ver-pool, Li-ver-pool.”
Then there was the  short sharp. LIVERPOOL (clap clap clap) LIVERPOOL- powerful and defiant.
There was also the  LIV-ERP-Double OL Liverpool FC (sung to Jesus Christ Superstar)

"Allez les rouges " was a cracker too.
3)   Away game defiance-

“Scousers here, scousers, there scousers every fucking where as the away end started filling up- Used to love that one
4)    Going for the Title

With us always being in the mix for the League title, there was the  “We’re going to win the League“ which is getting an airing I hear as it did in the run-in a couple of years ago.
But there was an even better one which was sung to an old Edith Piaf tune Milord:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vwe3CzWZ4Bg

“We’re going to win the League, we’re gonna win the League, we’re gonna win win win win win the League”. This was absolutely brilliant when boomed out by the Kop

Another good one was :  “Liverpool Liverpool, top of the League, Liverpool top of the League.”
I’d love to hear that when we get back on our perch.

5)   Newer ones:
That’s entertainment is utter brilliance. Hope it takes off more in the next few weeks.

I also like my own one for Matip a couple of pages ago, but that obviously flew under the radar. I’d love it to get a sounding. It’s bounceable and if I was able to get to games, my mates and I would definitely get it going!

For some people, creating an atmosphere might be of secondary importance. As far as I’m concerned, and I think this is the manager’s line too, the support is as important as getting a big signing. This on eone of the reasons that Klopp was attracted to our club in the first place. If you have a ticket on the Kop (or anywhere else for that matter), you have a privilege and an enormous responsibility to do your bit. Learn the fucking songs or give your ticket to someone else.
Atmosphere makes an enormous difference , gets points, respect and makes players want to be part of the club. When we’re  going through a bad patch as well. Sorry if I’m ranting again buti t really is dear to me even if (or because) I’m an old git.

Here you go Dave...    .https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XqWc2X8fSuc

If it's too difficult to get the first part in, the chorus would work brilliantly! So fucking bounceable.. Go to 00. 59 on this you tube link "Oh you're just my type...... " substitute that with Joel Matip ...reckon it could bounce us through the winter......Sure there are some better ideas out there, but let's get them going!!!

Remember in the seventies and eighties players  1 to11 had a song and each one was sung whilst players were warming up ten or so minutes before kick off.

It was an air raid siren brought along by a mate of big Jim :)

I'd walk a million miles, for one of your goals.

I think in that team though, he was the only player who had his own song, but he had two.  To have your own song in the 80s you needed to be really special.  He had two songs, he really was that good.

I tried a bit of a reworking of the Torres song for Sturridge as there was little better than that bounce back then! Shame Sturridge never took the vacant number 9 shirt after Benteke left though  :-\

Anyone remember the old Ronny Rosenthal song?

We should use the tune for Adam Lallana. Simple and effective, especially if punctuated with a clap.

As well as it fitting the number of syllables in their names.  The fact it's an Israeli / Jewish tune shouldn't really matter, should it?

The name of it's on the tip of my tongue but it's sang at Jewish celebrations.  E.g. sang whilst Rosenthal / Benayoun were celebrating their goals.

Doesn't really matter but there was significance to singing it in the past.

That probably sounds a bit un PC these days.

He gets the ball, he makes a chance
He scores a goal, he does his dance
He's Daniel Sturridge
And he scores goals for fun

:lmao

You need to find words that rhyme with the latter part of his name. Here's my attempt.

He said 'sod this' and left the Bridge.
Sturridge, Sturridge.
He dances all around the pitch.
Sturridge, Sturridge
He gets the ball, he makes a chance
He blams one in, he does his dance
Dan-yell-sturridge, he scores when he wants!
*bounce*
Na na na na na na na etc.

I quite like it, it just always feels a little wrong re-using songs but I guess that has happened a lot through the years?

Just reading in a different thread, with a link to us singing 'Come on you reeeeee-dddddssss' in 77 at home to the same tune as Spurs sing 'Come on your Spuuuuuurrrs'.

Amazing how times and taste change. Imagine you'd be looked at like an alien for singing that now.
