Lauri Dalla Valle offered a 4-year contract
« on: November 30, 2006, 12:34:36 pm »
Lauri Dalla Valle, 15, is a midfield player from Finnish side JIPPO (Joensuu). He spent last season in Inter Milan, until he wanted to terminate the contract with the Italian club. "Lauri can consider the offer as long as he wants. He can make the decision tomorrow or in next summer. Now important is training and  school." said Lauri's father, Loreno Dalla Valle.

Liverpool have said that for talented playmaker one year at the academy would be enough, wich after he could move to Melwood to train with first- and reserve squads. Lauri's original plan was to move to abroad in next summer, after he have finished his school. Both Lauri and his father was exceptionaly received at Liverpool. "It was like red carpet would've layed for us. Nothing cost us at all. We met all the directors and managers at the club, including Rafael Bentiez. Lauri was better treated here than in Italy" his father told Veikkaaja.

This player is suppose to be very talented and I've got the picture he's the next Jari Litmanen. I think it would be fantastic to get his signature and wouldn't doubt he'd fit in well to Liverpool in future. I guess it tells something that Liverpool offers him such a long contract even for player as young. :)

Sounds promisisng but I hate it when people are "the next ........"

Remember we had the next Zidane, how crap was he?

But good luck to the lad, I hope he becomes as good as Jari was, playing for us.

Well I personaly haven't seen the lad so can't tell if he's exactly "next Jari Litmanen" as in same sort of player. I hope Dalla Valle will be his own who people will be refering future stars again. :) But just I ment that if he will become as good as they say he will, he's gonna have as big role in future for Finland at least than Jari Litmanen.

Of course, we have to wait atleast for 2 to 4 years to him even appear in the first team and then we can talk more I guess.. Just thought to bring this name into your attention so if he will sign the cotract, then you know little how the lad is. :)

The topic? Liverpool have offered him a contract length of 4 years. What part do you not comprehend?

Or if you mean about my own speculation that it must tell something of players ability and / or potential if such young player is being offered such long contract, then I just have got the picture that usualy for young players it's more of year-per-year type of contracts. But then again I might be wrong.

AND I AM FINNISH, so sorry if my english dosn't make sense at times. :)

Yes that is what he was planning to do, but in some cases it is possible to make special arrangments to kind of home school, since he was at Inter Milan for 6 months if I've understud right.

Me too, but at least in FM ( :D ) they make a pre-contracts until they can make real-contracts so that other clubs can't sign them before they've signed that actual contract. But I guess there's always ways to go around regulations and rules. I don't know realy if it's actual contract, but some sort since they are making news of it.

Now correct me - Doesn't Lauri Dalla Valle sound very Italian?  Is he of Italian origin?
Liverpool are grasping them young - hope we can make a player out of him.

Yesterday, El Zhar and Guthrie got a run out. I will expect a few more will against Galatassaray in the last Group game.

Lauri´s father is an italian, who has lived in finland about 20 years. He exports mushrooms from finland to italy, and with that business has made quite a fortune for himself.

Lauri's father is Italian like said above and his mother is Finnish. I read an aritcle about him this summer and it said Lauri's parent met when his father was a police officer in Italy, following a criminal. When the criminal turned to watch his back, Lauri's father went to talk with nearest person, who found out to be a Finnish exchange student from Finland. They changed numbers and rest is history I guess. The criminal got gaught by the way.

He wasn't perfect, he made mistakes. But he was genuine. He had the best interests of the club at heart, and gave us a plethora of successful teams that we should have been thankful for.

I think so too. Just another thing to be proud. :)

Yeah, but to next version they tend to get their skills reduced.. Example: Jon Lundblad, in FM2006 I bought him from Örebro for peanuts with Nuneaton Borough, then he banged some 50 odd goals in less than two seasons and sold him to Spain for 2,5 million pounds. In FM2007 he is at Rennes (?) and dosn't seem any that good than in 2006..

Gought as in Gout, which Kewell was said to have (though it turned out to be a septic blister or something I think).

Geographically and ethnically speaking Finland is not part of Scandinavia.

Well there was a lecture on this on the other thread. Basically, Finland does not belong to the Scandinavian countries, i.e those that lay on the Scandinavian peninsula (only Norway, Sweden and Denmark). The language is very different from other Nordic languages, it has more in common with Estonian and Hungarian.  Ethnically I actually don't know, as Finland was part of Sweden for a long time and there was bound to be some interaction. Maybe more Russian influences?

I am Swedish from the far South by the way, so I am not too knowledgable in these matters, but that is how I understand things.

He was only being sarcastic about our treatment of Litmanen :-)

Hope he turns out to be a star in the making....!

Good to hear we've been nice enough to the lad that he wants to join, our youth player policy has really improved. All the best to him, bloody jealous though. He'll be playing football at Anfield while I was dissecting frogs back when I was 15.
