Great signing, it's kismet...

Anagram of Nathaniel Clyne = Clean In Thy Lean, or Canny Lithe Lean

And yes, it's taken me all fucking day for those two.

Hahaha, very good

Nice to see Rodgers getting all of his first choice signings (apart from depay). Definitely an improvement on glen from the last few years

Great signing, and surprisingly (for an English player) what seems like a fair price too.  Really pleased with this one.

That and the playing out of position joke are painfully tired. Also the complaining about the wages on a wonderful, talented young new signing. It must be said that no one actually knows his wages. It's all speculation and the contract likely has many incentives that lead to the total.

Welcome to the best club in the world Nathaniel. Now the hard work starts.
We’ll still finish in top four - and they won’t. You can quote me on this in May.

Lallana, Lovren and Lambert all looked better playing for Southampton and you can even add Luke Shaw to that list, perhaps it's because there was less pressure and expectation.

I hope Clyne can buck that trend, he appears to put his head down and plays with hard graft.

also hoping for better from Lallana and Lovren in their second season.

Brilliant signing. Really made up with this. I was gutted we weren't in for him last season and around four months ago, I was certain he'd end up down the road with that other mob.

That lean is very catalogue-esque. Reckon he could get a gig as a model for House of Fraser!

Good signing at a good price. Mind boggles that we paid so much less for Clyne than Lallana, Lovren, and Shaw went. Did well

Probably because he only had 12 months left on the contract. Not sure about the contract situation the other ones were under that you've mentioned though.

Nice signing.. When Flanno is back from injury.. we have now, proven and realiable wingbacks in Clyne, Flanno and Alberto.. Might still be not enough backup, if one or two gets injured..

I'm very positive. He's less naturally talented than Johnson, who can do just about anything with both feet on a good day. I think he's gonna be much more solid for us than Johnson. Johnson could give us an occasional great performance but more often the last few seasons he was mediocre if not poor.

Really impressed with this kid, seems capable in defence and going forward and that's quite rare to be honest!  Don't think we play with a great deal of width from midfield and in attack, so good attacking fullbacks are important for us.  Think the price is spot on too considering his contract situation.  Very happy, would certainly have expected one of the CL clubs to have got him.
Someday soon everyone will know the truth.  96 never forgotten.

has pretty much everything you'd want in a full back in Brendans system, he'll get up and down the right for 90 min, has great pace to take advantage of those 2v1 situations and has good quality when he gets forward.

Defensively he's solid, his pace means he's tough to beat 1v1 and he seems to know where he's supposed to be should help Skrtel out on the right side of the defence.

Good enough to go straight into the first 11 which is what we need this transfer window.

I agree, I've liked him for a few seasons now and he cemented my admiration with a goal he scored against arsenal in front of me in the league cup last year. I think he'll be good for us and we'll be good for him.

The technique in that lean points to the character Brendan seeks in a player. This is clearly his signing not the TC.

Plus it's shot from the top of the Atlantic Tower, thus indicating the continental approach.

Edit: That's actually wrong. It was shot from the top of the building behind the Atlantic Tower. No continental playstyle for you Brendan, sorry!  :wanker

Disagree hugely on Lambert. Expected more from Lallana as well, but injuries ruined his chances of slotting in before the season started, and building momentum.

Not while Flanagan's return date can't be pinned down to anything more specific than 'somewhere between October and April'

Think Rodgers believes that. Plus he doesn't rate Manquillo. That much is clear.

Because we need to agree the termination of his loan deal with Atletico Madrid and the player and its unlikely that we would have sent him back before we signed Clyne in case we left ourselves short.
