Great news, welcome to the club Joe!

Nice interview, speaks very well for an 18 year old. I like that he's a realist saying he's keen to learn, but clearly has ambitions. Having Toure around for another pre-season and season can only be a good thing for this lad. I think he'll take Kolo's spot next season as Skrtel's backup, and then Skrtel's place when he leaves... Or maybe that will be Ilori! Either way good to have an abundance of top quality CB's coming through now, and for only £10.5m combined.

Unlike Wisdom and Coates he can move with the ball for one. Also looks lot more agile and much faster than the two of them.

One for the future. He seems an obvious talent but so did Coates, Wisdom and Ilori when we signed them so it's hard to get too excited about this one.

Still waiting for the ones that are going to deliver now though..

Fast-forward a couple of years by which time Skrtel, Toure, Coates, and Enrique will have left the club. Looks good to me!

I think he'd benefit more from playing in a top Championship team like Derby. They play attacking football, and he'd have better guarantees of gametime than at a relegation-battling club where he could get dropped in favour of a more experienced CB when the shit hits the fan, as happened with Wisdom.

Yeah that's a good point.

I was just saying that he has clearly had a good breakout year at Charlton. So maybe a PL loan was next in progression? But yeah, as you say, a loan to a promotion chasing team would be better.

This guy is clearly going to be fast tracked to take over from Skrtel. We've been crying out for a right sided center back who plays football for a long time.

Fantastic signing, best of luck to him.

Reading his interview strikes me of a very old head on young shoulders, he may have been prompted but if you read his earlier interviews whilst at charlton it's all about Rio as his idol, he clearly adds to this 2 current legends of Liverpool.. That to me means he's no mug.
