What a load of rubbish.

Momentum? Injuries?

So? Everyone else is in the same boat. Injuries randomly happen.

We might go on a stormer opening run and catch teams cold and then fuck up (like usual) against the shite teams.

Stoke (A), Bournemouth (H), Arsenal (A), West Ham (H), Man Utd (A), Norwich (h), Villa (h), Everton (a) , Spurs (a), Saints (h), Chelsea (a)

I've got us at about 16/33 for that, which wouldn't be terrible I suppose.

The great thing about this fixture list is that we'll be able to go to the scene of our humiliation right off the bat, and win there to make a statement that this season is going to be different. I believe...

Liverpool's first 7 away games - Stoke, Arsenal, Man Utd, Everton, Spurs, Chelsea and Manchester City - ouch

We got 5 points this season from those equivalent games. Tough ask for Rodgers considering one poor result will put him under pressure again.

On the plus side, if we're within touching distance of the leaders on 22nd November we'll win the league.

It's about building up some momentum. Getting the top 5 and the bitters in the first 6 away games is the worst possible scenario.

Lucky we go to Stoke first then, so it's only the second worst possible scenario.

The start isn't great but our December/Christmas fixtures are not particularly difficult, neither are our last 7 games of the season. Massive opportunity for us there if we can remain in and around the top 4 come late Autumn and December.

As we see last season, all of our games are difficult.  Don't mind losing to the top 4 teams at there place.  Need to beat the so called lesser sides which we failed to do.

That's irrelevant. We should sign a top striker this summer anyway. If we don't it will be our fault.

Really? I can't imagine a more relevant scenario in relation to tough fixtures.

There is not.The fixture list evens up as the season progress. When we'll  have our easy run other teams will have a difficult one and vice versa.

Even if we play to title winning form, we'll be well behind the rest of the pack by December. We'll have all the easier fixtures to come, but the cries from the sort of dickheads who phone talksport to demand the manager gets sacked will be deafening.

The only thing you can hope for here is good fixtures at Christmas. Arguably having City and Chelsea away in 2 days in 2013 was crucial. Any poor results will have much bigger causes

Hardest start for some time - all big teams away in first few months.
I'd say it is better than the 2012/13 start.

Pleased we have Stoke from a motivation perspective.

Probably best to see what the transfer market does before we start shooting our collective loud about how we will do.

I'm sure our title run season before last was similar. Most games against the top 6 were at home t the Second half the season.

If we can stay within touching distance by xmas we have a great second half of the season and good run in!

Right, positive hat on - while those opening away games are as tough as can be, on the flip side the home games look very winnable. What we have to do is take care of those, come out of the aways as unscathed as possible and we'll be in ok shape with things to get easier

Meh, you've got to play them at some time, may as well get them out the way.

If we're to have a good season then we'd have to get some sort of points at those games whenever we played them. What better way to get the memory of last season out of the players (and fans) minds than by doing it at the start of the season and building up some confidence.

Not the kindest fixture list, but if we somehow come out of that gauntlet relatively unscathed you'd think we'd be in pretty good shape.

People looking at the fixture list and fucking crying because our first 7 away games are against Stoke, Arsenal, Man Utd, Everton, Spurs, Chelsea & City are clearly forgetting that we lost at Crystal Palace, West Ham, Hull City & Newcastle last season!!

Doesn't matter who we play first, or all those away games in a row are against - If we don't generally improve on last season, then it will be shite.

We could get to December and be in the top 4 with people thinking "we have a chance because all the tough games are out the way" and then go to Newcastle and be horrific again like last season!
