Already has as many league goals as Borini, Balotelli and Lambert did last season combined.

When he's fit and ready to go, I genuinely don't think there's a CB who can properly control him (maybe try play a high line? Although odds are he'll knock it down and play somebody in).

I spent years giving Skrtel shit for getting battered by Benteke, but when you watch him every game you see how his strength is just unstoppable. If you put the ball near him it's just going to stick to him, or end up flying at the keeper. The bloke has scary potential assuming he gets over his niggles.

Not afraid in the big games, already scored at Chelsea and United

Completely proved me wrong so far, hope he makes me look a massive tit in the near future.

They can play a high line but with no10's like Coutinho and Firmino and the willing runners we have they'd soon regret it. I still expect most sides to play deep against us but with Benteke it makes doing so very difficult for them.

As I said before we signed Benteke he might not score as many as Sturridge (I expected .60 per game) but his presence and link up play will mean when he's on the pitch our other players will score more.

The best compliment I can pay Benteke is that he reminds me of the type of player who we've struggled ourselves to deal with for years.

Hmm..is that really a compliment if you actually think about it..?

Chelseas back line are big and powerful but compared to Benteke they simply did not stand a chance. Was made up when we signed him and he's certainly proving his doubters wrong. Look at the goals hes scored for us, all different types - the overhead kick, the bullet head and now this one today.. No way is the lad a one trick pony. We just have to keep him fit and somehow get him on the pitch with Sturridge.

He adds a certain presence up front that we lack so often. I was very impressed with him when he came on today.

Haha, point taken. But what I meant was that we've all been fearing these big, physical strikers for years. Now we've got our own.

I like how he wins his battles with sheer strength and early positioning, rather than getting into tussles and risking giving free kicks away

Probably won't be long before he's removed from the list of Rodgers' signings and added to the transfer committee successes which Rodgers tried to veto.

It is starting to look like we done some really good business this summer, Ings, Benteke, Gomez,
Clyne, Firmino and Milner have all done well while Bogdan is an improvement as a back up keeper.

Jesus, if Klopp can somehow play him and Sturridge together in as close as possible to their best positions whilst still maintaining the present balance we are on our way to being a very cool team.

Benteke has looked far more threatening in general in these last two games under Klopp than he did for us before with Rodgers (granted its a very limited sample size) simply due to the fact that we are now playing a good 10-15 yards further up the pitch right now and so, we are in a position to surround Benteke with runners beyond him to collect the knock downs. This resulted in both our goals in the second half. Under Rodgers, he was still winning these headers, but the rest of the midfield was just too far behind to make up the ground needed to attack those knock downs. And as always, he showed what a lethal finisher he is. Just hope we can keep either him or Sturridge fit for the entire season, if not both.

We did do very good business this summer. We also did pretty good buisness last summer, strikers aside ;)

When you think He isn't 25 until December and that strikers of his type and physique normally don't hit their peak until their late twenties then we could well have a potentially world class player on our hands. Hopefully as he gains experience he will become almost unplayable given the right delivery.

That first header he won today sent a strong message to the Chelsea back line.  What a fucking towering header over a pretty big unit in Zouma.

Anyone see the tactic today where a goal kick from Mignolet was sent down the right. Their defenders all followed Benteke and one of our players dropped in behind to collect the flick on. Simple but brilliant because the fact that their defenders were all running towards our goal took them completely out of play.
There really isn't.  I think a lot of us, even our own have started doubting it. It's time to rise up. And take what is rightfully ours. It's a big mountain, but what is the point in achieving something, which everyone can?

Fate has given us a mountain too big. We have to rise. We have to believe.

I never quite understood why Rodgers wanted Bony and then Benteke post Suarez. And you could argue Lambert and even agreeing to taking Mario.
He obviously had some plan in his mind how to use a big powerful number 9 but we never saw any sign on the pitch of it being implemented.
That's not some dig on Rodgersit just didn't ever make sense. We can speculate on the plan, but we never saw anything to indicate the players understood it.
Klopp comes in and suddenly Benteke comes on. Sakho hit him with a long ball out wide, having dragged defenders to him, he dominates and a few seconds later Phil is putting us in the lead.
Benteke is being used in a way that makes sense, rather than trying to form players into existing systems they don't suit.
I said when we were in for Benteke he was a very good player, but he'd be wasted with how we played. We can scratch that now.

As I said in the other thread he is as good as Sturridge and better than any striker in the league bar Aguero .
Just that he played (who are torrid to watch) clouded who good a Striker he is .

We are sheer lucky to have 2 of the 3 best strikers in the league playing for us .Hopefully Sturridge can stay we will smash most teams if we can fit both into the team

Frankly Benteke + 17 mil for Sterling is any day great deal for us .We were sheer lucky be had a buyout clause Otherwise he would have cost much more than £32 mil

My only concern over him was the quality of his build up play. Whether his knock downs, short passing and link up play would be good enough. It's more than good enough, it's honestly ridiculously good.

Now to get him sprinting and quicker.
